First United Methodist of Florence Return from Honduran Mission
An 11 member team from First United Methodist Church in Florence has just returned from a mission trip to Roatan, Honduras. One of our own, H.L. Ray, is serving there as a volunteer in mission, and he coordinated the needs of the people there with our abilities.
Pictured is our team, the church which we raised the money for and worked on while we were there,(a feeding kitchen will be on the second floor), the youth group who participated in a two-day youth retreat with us, and some children in our temporary feeding kitchen.
Other activites while we were there included visiting the schools to talk about dental hygiene and healthy lifestyles, a women's seminar, a medical clinic with our two nurses, and a mother-daughter banquet. It was a week of blessings for each of us.
