Heavy Rains Cause Damage Near La Ceiba
By Shane Cooper
Here is a special report about some of the destruction caused in some of the towns near La Ceiba by harsh rains .Several homes were destroyed by the flooding. People lost their homes, land and many other belongings. So many people are scared of every rain that falls in their areas because of sudden floods.
The rains have become more and more intense due to problems related to the ozone. In the past, it usually rained just a few inches a day during a period of several days; and now, we sometimes receive what was usually a weeks worth of rain in one or two days.
Towns like Nueva Armenia that are built having the ocean on its North side and a river that runs along the East side, makes it one of the towns that are most subject to sudden floods.
After a recent storm that caused grate damage in Nueva Armenia and neighboring areas, Pastor Santos Elvir and I took a trip out there with the purpose of finding out the magnitude of the situation. The news we brought back was absolutely astonishing. There had bin water in homes above levels that were not even cause by the hurricane Mitch back in 1998.

We then gathered some of the goods sent down from the Alabama Christmas container and purchased some basic food items to take back to the people who had the greatest needs.
