CEVER: Centro de Educacion Vocacional Evangelico y Reformado
Director is Angel Eduardo House Murillo (who is a graduate
of the school)
Yoro, Yoro 671-2315 or 671-3033
CEVER is a 20 year old vocational/trade school in Yoro for
young men & women (grade 7 and up) who are interested in
learning 5 areas:
1) auto mechanics 2) industrial mechanics 3) soldering/welding
4) woodcarving 5)sewing and soon to be added, 6) cooking & restaurant
classes.
Fees are 1) Registration (370 Lempira, about $19); 2)
entrance requirements (750-1000 Lempira, about $50) and
3) monthly tuition (300 Lempira, about $15). Students progress
at their own rate, thru "modules"; most finish in less than
2 years. There are no dormitory facilities, so at this time,
most of the students are from the Yoro area.
I have toured the school and found it to be very professional & clean.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone reading this who is interested in
education and young people to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in someone's
life and consider sponsoring a deserving young man or woman.
In this poverty-stricken area, a young person with no skills
hasn't much of a chance to make something of their life. But
with a little education and training, this can happen for them. Most Honduran
families do not have the extra $100 to even consider this in
the first place. And many of us may not have that extra
$100 either, but I humbly ask those reading this, to consider
budgeting and sponsoring a young person to CEVER. If you
care to not sponsor someone, would you please consider making
a donation to the school? If you would like, please contact
me at 256-351-1271, after 4pm. Linda
