A
Christmas Story
Linda Tripp
When I was small and wanted something that my parents couldn’t
afford, dad would tell me, “when my ship comes in”.
Now, many years later that phrase comes to mind as we finished
loading the Christmas container in the grand town of Arley last
weekend. Our wonderful friends in Honduras will see that “ship
come in”. It will come with much-needed rice, beans, and
other food staples.
It will come with beautiful new sofas for Shalom, the girls’ dorm.
It will come with clothes and shoes and blankets for the
victims of the recent flooding. It will come with books and school
supplies for the school libraries. It will come with gorgeous
bolts of fabric for the sewing schools. And it will come with
over a thousand “Christmas
shoeboxes” for the children, most of whom would receive
no other gifts at Christmas. But most of all, that ship will
come with the love of God that He has instilled in each of us… to
share what He has given.
