Foundation started 2002 with conception of Ciriboya ClinicCiriboya Clinic was
the conceptual beginning with Dr. Luther Castillo and Bill Camp of CHIMES. Draws
on the Co-oporation of: Garifina Doctors and medical personnel Cuban Doctors
with multiple specialties Multiple Medical Brigades from the USAN.

patients treated since conception: 70,000 With
annual census of 35,000 now
Now:
7 Cuban medical personnel

Honduran medical personnel
Intermittent
and variable USA medical personnel Program
is well accepted.

Cooking program: the concept being to teach solar cooking
in the school for the children to change the pattern of
established cooking with firewood.

Role of the USA Medical Brigades:
Originally:
supplied the bulk of medical care in this area
Now:
Cultural
Exchange
Both
medical and non medical
Develop
trust and relationship with free exchange of medical knowledge
and experience, including care for patients, inspiration,
and pharmacology.
For
more traditional patient care, the combination medical
brigades make up of Honduran, Cuban, and USA medical personnel
will move to more remote and underserved areas.
Physically
working together.
Problems
commonly encountered:
HCVD,
D.M., Malaria, Fungal infections, Lesmoniasssis, respiratory
illnesses, and HIV Infection.
The
foundation would like for us to work hand-in-hand with
one or more of their docs when working in their villages
both seeing patients, teaching, and exchanging ideas.
