Limon Nurture Project: Fund Raiser Report
On a Friday nite,
we decided to try a different approach to fund raising. The idea
being if we had 100 or more folks funding a project, we would
more likely be able to sustain the funding. Also, if we give
our folks feedback,  they are more likely to keep up their funding.

Cost of the project: $825.00/month
This supplies food, snacks,
and other essentials to 55 kids and 20 + widows in the Garifina
Village of Limon.
An AHMEN team from Christ United Methodist church
from Jasper has partnered with the Cruzado church n Limon, under
the pastorships of Rev. Dale Capron and Rev. David Ventrua.
AHMEN
team, under Rev. Dale Capron, commetted to one year of this level
of funding.
Cruzado Chruch, under Rev. David Ventura, committed
to one year of 5 feedings/week, 5 hour of study hall with mentors/week,
and 5 hours of person grown classes/week.

How to fund:
$15/mo. You will get a quarterly report from the
pastor and teachers from Limon
$25/mo you will get the quarterly report plus
a magnet and details of a specific child you are sponsoring
$50 or more/mo.
You will get the quarterly report, your own kids, and your name
on a placque in the Nurture center.
How to
get the folks who want to be sponsors?
We had 6 different
folks cook homemade food for 100 people.
We
had 9 different “table captains” commit to get
8 people to sit at their table for the price of $5/chair. This
money was used to defray the cost of the food.
Then, the members
of the AHMEN team who had been to the Limon Nurture Project talked
about the kids and the project. Dale and Anna put on a power
point.
Then folks were asked to make a commitment
for whatever monthly sum they were comfortable with.
Did it work? So far, after one
program, we have $625 pledged, with another $1,000 in one time
donations.
What next? We will
contact the folks committed and thinking about commitments. Send
our first report to the sponsors and see what happens.
If necessary, we will repeat the process with
a different group of table captains to be able to reach another
group of potential sponsors.
