- My Honduran Mission Trip
Roatan Honduras
I started my trip
off by going to the Calgary Zoo, then flew out the next morning
to Roatan Honduras . When we arrived that evening we were happy
to see all of our family and friends.
While I was there the Lord
blessed me with the opportunity to be a help in the Christian school
and some days in the cafeteria.
While volunteering in school, I
was able to help the teachers by dealing with some of the children's
attitude, teaching them new subjects in Math and Science, and
taking care of them when they were sick at school. I was happy
to see improvements in their attitude and work. I was able to
team up with Miss April Aaron and had a very good time working
with her in the Learning Center.
This year my Mom and I were
able to raise money by selling foods, toys, clothing, and bake
goodies. We raised enough money to repair 2 computers that was
donated to the school office. Approximately Lps.2,500.00($132.00)
Sometimes on Sunday's I was able to help in the Sunday School
classes, and sing in the Children's Choir. The services were
long, but I enjoyed them.
When I had free time, my cousin and
I would jump off the wharf and swim. Other days we would go up
the shore with my Grandpa and Grandma to go snorkeling and diving
conch in Port Royal. One day while diving I got to see three
squid, a stingray and a gorgeous reef like what you would see
on TV. I also was able to go hiking around the island and saw
wild iguanas, snakes, frogs and bugs.
I had a wonderful time
and I made a lot of new friends. I can't wait to go there again
next year if God wills. I am thankful that I was able to go this
year.
