It's A Gift!
Early in the morning, two days
before the preloading of the fall container in Arley, I received
a phone call from Karen Redic. Karen works at the Wal-Mart Distribution
Center in LaGrange, Georgia. Over the past couple of years
she has provided AHMEN with lots of shelf pulls and products
with damaged packaging for our friends in Honduras. Her voice
on the phone asked “Could you use 700 new tee shirts?” That
is the way things happen in this ministry. Needs arise, and solutions
are provided.
The tee shirts are bright red,
with the Wal-Mart logo on them. They were part of an internal
promotion within the Wal-Mart organization. The tee shirts had
a very slight cosmetic flaw (the graphic on the back was a
little crooked and a little off-center). Karen said that the
shirts had been returned to the
supplier, American Solutions
for Business, and that Gerald Sweet, the Sales Executive with
American Solutions, wanted to donate the shirts to a good cause.
We were at Gerald’s warehouse the next day to pick up
the shirts and prepare them for delivery to Arley.
We are grateful to Karen and
the Wal-Mart organization for their continued support of our
efforts. Additionally we appreciate Gerald and American Solutions
for Business for their generous donation. So when you are in
Honduras this next year and you see someone wearing a bright
red Wal-Mart tee shirt with a slightly crooked graphic, make
a mental note of where you are and let me know. I will be interested
in tracking how far and wide the generosity flows.
Amor en Cristo,
