Shalom’s residents seek to learn English. Feb. ‘09
Jane Cox came up with this idea. What a great advantage the women of Shalom who graduate would have if they could speak English. Here is how this could work.
Jane has priced a Rosetta Stone English course for $550.
Deb and Phillip Windham have sent down a computer for Shalom
Several of the ladies that live at Shalom are majoring in computers and can head up the Rosetta Stone course. Each team that goes down ask one or two team members to spend 2 hours with the girls speaking English with them. Doris or Sandy will help set this up.
Each team that goes down eats one meal with the girls, either at Shalom or takes them to a restaurant. Either Doris Brady or Sandy/Sister Eleanor will help organize this.
You can probable see the weakest point of this plan – Jane needs the $550. She already has $100 pledged, so that just leaves $450.
