HIV Prevention Training
Submitted by Bayron Morales
I am reporting and attaching pictures about the activity developed last January in Cusuna. The last December workshop we trained the Community Agents onHIV Training 1 HIV-Prevention. At that event we introduced the subject and we will continue with three manuals I produced with a consultant team.
The material has been used in many contexts with a perdurable success. After the training, all the agents and as part of the learning goals of the program, planned to organize local seminars with the communities to teach them what they have started to learn about HIV-AIDS.
The current pictures belong to the chats developed in Cusuna by the next community agents and participation: Timotea Castillo:
Picture 1: Giving a welcome to the attendances…mostly young people.
Nahun Flores: Explained the different HIV transmission ways and used a group dynamic to understand one of the transmission ways. Belkis Arzu:
Picture 2: Making first questions to the group to know how much they know about HIV and what awareness they have about the risk behaviors. HIV Training 2
Julian Bermudez:
Picture 3: Shared the story of a real case about the impact in a family and the hard consequences of living with HIV-AIDS. Claudia Bermudez, Mery Valezka and Irene Bermudez:
Picture 4: Logistic support In general the way that the agents shared the subject might surprise to people from outside the community. They speak in a very direct language and with crude examples of the consequences.
All that as part of their cultural patterns to dissuade the youths but also based in the reality of Honduras as the second country in HIV-AIDS incidence after Haiti.
