| A Second Meeting with Honduran President by Pablo Mario Ordonez Consejero de Asuntos Humanitarios Embajada de Honduras A second meeting was quickly requested and held in April, 2012. Many more NGO's and Honduran dignitaries attended, as well as the Governor of Georgia. Much was shared and accomplished through this collaboration. NGO's learned the Honduran way of doing business and the Honduran Government learned the issues facing NGO's. Also, the #1 focus of the NGO's who have attended one or both meeting, as well as those who could not make it this time, is the creation of an Association of NGO's. That said, an Organizational Committee has been formed and will have the initial meeting June 8, in Atlanta. Results of this meeting will be distributed to all. Thoughts, concerns, additions to the vision, addition to the purpose, and suggestions for the mission statement will be welcomed. The general consensus was that the next meeting would be scheduled for March, 2013. However, what happen next was by perfect design and did not happen by chance. I was working my usual trip to TGU and I received information from Emelisa Callejas, (Consul General of Honduras based in Atlanta), that the President of Honduras, Pepe Lobo, was going to be on my flight. Emelisa briefed the President about my role and all that has transpired thus far. Once we took off, we had a chance to chat and I was able to share with him the minutes of our last meeting. After the President had a chance to read over the minutes, he was very excited with the success we have had and he asked me if it would be possible to have a meeting with all NGO's sometime during the first 2 weeks in October, 2012. The committee which organizes the meetings, would like to know ASAP, (by June 15, 2012), if your NGO would be interested in attending this meeting with the President and other Government Officials. The date of the meeting must be placed on President Lobo's calendar quickly so he can save the date. Please help me get the word out for this meeting. Feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone you think would be interested. We would love to have everyone there. Looking forward with great excitement to hearing from you soon.
