First Report: W orking in Belaire, Honduras
What a week of adventure, work, miracles, and scouting! We had 3 days of clinics last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and saw the most BelAire has ever seen. We saw 250 on Thursday, 362 on Friday and around 300 on Saturday -- and pulled 89 teeth.

I had Dr. Delmer Montoya from elProgresso and Dr. Cezar Nunez *dentist* from LaCeiba with Sharon and I. We saw the Shalom girls on Sunday and attended 2 services.

Went to the cloud forest yesterday and will go again tomorrow. We just got word that a preemie was born high up and we will attempt to reach her tomorrow.

Sharon and I and Patty met with the president of the Rehabilitation Center in LaCeiba today and got some interesting info to share with you. They have centers in Tocoa, Olinchita, Cortes andare buidling a center in LaEsperanza, I was very impressed with their program.

They will take our referrals gratas because he wants to service the very poor and the ones in most need. We already have 8 or 9 amputees scheduled for fittings in June. We have a Downs 3 year old from Belaire going saturday for an appointment. this child cannot walk or eat.

He was abandoned by the mother as an infant on the doorsteps of a lady. We also visited the government hospital and assessed it for needs.

Second Report
"Cloud Forest" above Belaire, Honduras we did see the preemie this a.m. and she weighed 4lb 6 ounces. baby was lethargic but we did a lot of teaching and the baby took 4 ounces of formula before we left, pooped and peeed. mother was not stimulating the baby or trying very hard to feed. this baby is a fighter so we feel good about her.

We spent the entire morning up in the cloud forest doing house calls, giving out shoes, leaving SHN food, and making new friends. I have 3 referrals for Dr. Robinson, plastic surgeon, who will be in Coyoles February 10th.

Also, several referrals to the rehab center we visited yesterday. wish I could stay longer. It is always sad for me to leave. We should be home late Saturday night.
