How to write checks for programs
in Honduras:
The banking system in Honduras is very interesting. If there is absolutely anything
out of line, the check is rejected by the bank. See note below from Jane Cox.
Also, if you "bounce" a check in Honduras, they charge Cruzado
1/2 of the value of the check. Ex. if the check is for $100, they charge
Cruzado $150. This is not an admonition, just FYI.
One note on checks - they need to be made out to Cruzadas
del Evangelio.......If several checks are sent to Honduras, each check
must be dated on the 1st day each month and there can be absolutely NO corrections, cross-outs,
etc., on a check that will be cashed in Honduras. |
