Looking
for Something New, but Old
by Ray Crump
Honduras is the second poorest nation in our hemisphere.
We are looking at the possibility of training mid-wives to have
better skills and be more knowledgeable. Our goal is to save the
lives of mothers and new born. Christians are taught: “To
whom much is given, much is required.” In our country with
the mortality rate going lower each year, why not share the “how
to” with those less fortunate? The question God has put before
us is “how can I help?”
Another project is replacing the roof of a church. A hurricane scattered
the old roof all over the country side. The people do not have the
means to replace the roof. When the people gather to worship, they
have brush over their heads to provide some relief from the sun.
When it rains, everything gets soaked.
We plan to have the local Honduran pastors do evangelism. We will
hold medical and dental clinics, eye glasses, starting gardens in
the yards of parishioners, and Vacation Bible School. If you are
interested in being a part of such a team scheduled for Thursday,
July 26-August 4, 2007, please contact us at: hkc1@bellsouth.net

Hungry Kids
If
you ever ask yourself if there are "really hungry kids"
in the world. Just come and visit the feeding kitchen at the city
dump in La Ceiba, Honduras. This feeding kitchen has a special place
in the heart of Lexie
and Buckwheat Hilton. Buckwheat says she can tell the difference
in the kids pictures over the last 5 or so years she and Lexie have
been participating in the feeding program. The kids are getting
healthier and more alert.
La Dump Feeding Kitchen serves a balanced diet two or three days
per week, depending on the funds available. If you want to know
more about this program, contact Lexie and Buckwheat Hilton:hilton_lexie@bellsouth.net

Gustavo, A Child in Need
by Tom Camp
Gustavo
is a young boy who lives in La Ceiba, Honduras. He is a neighbor
of Patty Umbrio, one of AHMEN and Cruzado''s main interpreters.
Dr. Kay Taylor, Dr. Pat Sax, and the members of PINCC met Gustavo
on their recent trip to Honduras. They noticed his abdominal distension
and were concerned. They are helping Gustavo and his family with
the medical work-up to determine the cause and hopefully treat this
potentially life threatening problem.
Dr. Kay and the PINCC team have asked everyone to keep Gustavo and
his family in their prayers.
To contact Dr. Kay Taylor look at admin@pincc.org
Thank you for your prayers. |
